Hi, I’m Katie—the creative voice behind The Messy Page & Huckleberry Gems.
For as long as I can remember, making things has been how I make sense of life. It started with the hum of my Bama’s sewing machine, scraps of fabric in my lap, and the way her hands moved with ease and intention. I learned early that creativity isn’t just about what you make—it’s about how it makes you feel.
I spent years building Huckleberry Gems, designing wood kits and crafting experiences that brought joy and connection to homes all over the country. But somewhere along the way, I felt a pull to slow down… and go deeper. Less about cranking out physical products, and more about helping women create from a place of curiosity, expression, and personal growth.
That’s how The Messy Page was born.
Now, I create digital workshops, mixed media lessons, and journal-based experiences that give you permission to explore, play, and create in a way that feels nourishing—not pressured. I still love a good wood kit, which is why I’ve kept the subscription box and occasional limited releases. But I also believe in painty fingers, torn paper, and pages that hold your stories.
This is a space where creative tools and soulful practice meet. Where your craft paints might sit next to your gel plate, and where a journal page can feel just as meaningful as a finished project.
If you’re here, you probably believe what I do—that creativity isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence. About giving yourself space to explore, express, and remember who you are beneath the noise.
So whether you come for the projects or the process—welcome. I’m glad you’re here.
